i like the way you roll .... on clouds

i like the way you roll

with a bit of masking work and some distress inks - the sky background was easily created - for my white and blue clouds and yellow sun to sit on

* the die-cuts are from Lawn Fawn - Large Stitched Journaling Card set and Spring Showers set
* the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Let's Roll sushi stamp set, but I think it goes so well with the 'rolling' clouds ...

card design was inspired by Seize the Sketch Challenge #20 whilst the pink and grey colour combo is based on Runway Inspired Challenge: ric#60 - Calla

The die-cut for the front of the card is from Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card set, whilst the 'girl with cupcake' image is a stamp from Crafter's Companion - Angelica & Adam Collection - Cherry on Top.

Post Note (27 May 2014): a big thank you to Lee Ann for liking my card enough to choose it as one of the STS' runner-ups

arigato amidst sakura pink

arigato in sakura pink

using just two very mini sakura flower stamps, and multi-shades of pink, red and purple ink pads - this simple cascading design of sakura flowers was done in no time at all

card was finished with the 'arigato' sentiment stamped and clear-embossed in place, pink rhinestones affixed to the centre of a sprinkling of the flowers, pink glitter glue added to others

card inspiration comes from this week's Lawnscaping Challenge #81 - Create your own background using stamps

the sakura and arigato stamps are from Lawn Fawn - Let's Roll stamp set

mini-cards

Mini-cards
This set of 3" x 4" mini cards were so much fun to make, quick and easy, and perfect as gift toppers. Thanks to Lawnscaping Challenge #80 : Mini theme for pushing me in this direction.

With less surface space, this set of small cute stamps from Lawn Fawn - Admit One stamp set and die-cut collection were perfect for taking the center-stage of the cards.

Can't wait to do more of these mini-explosion of colours!

friends are special gifts

friends are special gifts

ovals and more ovals - that's the theme for CAS-ual Fridays CFC130 Challenge: Good Egg

- a lovely shade of lilac patterned paper affixed on the base white card stock, which had been cut using Lawn Fawn's Large Stitched Journaling Card die cut - I love the detailed stitching lines round the edges!
- this was followed by a white strip of paper and some silver threads affixed and tied from end to end at the bottom third section of the card
- the centre oval royal purple card was first embossed and then lightly dusted with VersaMark Ink before sprinkling a light sheen of embossing powder - heat-embossed to bring out the beautiful contrasted details
- another oval white card was affixed behind the purple card but offset slightly
- the sentiment stamp is a beautiful stamp from JustRite - Special Gifts Labels set - stamped in VersaFine Imperial Purple and heat-embossed before affixing to the card with mounted foam tape
- finished off with a little flower embellishment at the side and some pearls at the top left corner

arigato

arigato
am totally in love with my new set of Lawn Fawn clear stamp - "Let's Roll" collection - with its delectable sushi rows and paraphernalia (chopsticks, soy sauce bottle, and even down to the little wasabi lump!) - I can just imagine the 'sushi meals' I will be churning out card after card...

this simple card was made based on the sketch in CAS(E) this Sketch #70

you're just my type

You're my Type by eatzycath
You're my Type, a photo by eatzycath on Flickr.

a more masculine card made for that special guy .....
first, I decided to use the typewriter stamp together with the "you're just my type" sentiment stamp from the Lawn Fawn "Just My Type" collection...
and to further highlight the theme, I added on other elements involving alphabet types and words in the card by
(i) adding the embossed background using the Typeset embossing folder from Cuttlebug; and
(ii) die-cutting the circle from patterned paper with columns of words using the Spellbinders Nestabilities - Lacey Circles.
blue was the safe natural choice of color for a guy card.... hmmm.... might need to be more adventurous in color choice the next time I do another guy card
this card is going in for the Die-Cut Divas - Guys and Boys! June Challenge
