Cruising With You

cruising with you

simple 1-layer card with a simple light-hearted message for a loved one - this was made taking into account the latest
One-layer Simplicity Challenge #4: Road Trip! (challenge - to make a travel-themed one-layer card)

 the bicycle stamp and sentiment are from Lawn Fawn's Cruising Through Life clear stamp set - easy to colour and with a paper piecing of the flag affixed with mounting tape and a heavy dash of glitter on the bicycle frame and swirly curl .... this card is all set to 'cruise' into someone's hands

great cycling friend

Card was made for the 1-layer card challenge from Hero Arts.

* the main image of the girl and boy on the bicycle (stamp is from IO-Impression Obsession - Fun Friends) was stamped first - I used teal metallic ink which provided a nice sheen to the stamped image (unfortunately, the sheen is not very noticeable in the picture)
* then I die-cut a scalloped circle to use as a mask
* with mask over the stamped image, I then stamped the background with Hero Arts - Newspaper Background wood-mounted stamp colored with Kaleidacolor Rainbow Dye Inkpad (Caribbean Sea color range)
* the "great friend" sentiment comes from Hero Arts - Made with Love stamp set - stamped in lime green and clear embossed
* with the scalloped circle mask in place, I lightly colored the newsprint background using co-ordinating chalk colors of light yellow, blue and green

Smile

Another b'day card made for my 'co-sec kaki' friend.
Loved the paper background from Basic Grey's Plumeria Collection - and as you can see, with paper so pretty, one doesn't really need to embellish too much - just an embossed "smile" sentiment stamp from Impression Obsession (IO) and embossed 'girl on bicycle' stamp from Penny Black's A Little Bird Collection, with dabs of Liquid Pearl added to the flowers in her basket and her scarf, and some lovely rows of coordinating ribbons.
