multi-colored friend for life

a very simple card inspired by The Paper Players Challenge #192 - Washi-tastic CAS Challenge (a clean and simple design using washi tape)

and what a perfect way to use these lovely thin strips of multicoloured washi tape in my stash!

The sentiment is from Penny Black's Edge to Edge clear stamp set - stamped and heat-embossed in white on kraft-stock and mounted using foam tape. With a few simple embellishments (multicoloured pearl dots and a green flower) - the card is ready to go!

yes.... there's no time like the present to say this to a loved one, a friend or even a colleague - why wait until tomorrow? And this one is for my hubby, the only one I know who takes all my nonsense and somehow still loves me and is there for me when I need him!

The design of this card was based on the sketch from a new challenge blog - Seize the Sketch #1 - a simple sketch easily adaptable for any card occasion.

Penny Black & More Challenge for June is CAS (Clean and Simple) - I love CAS cards but it is not easy to make one as sometimes, over-enthusiasm can create too many layers and elements on a card!

I'm hoping that this one will qualify as a CAS card, though personally I think there's still too many elements on the card!

* the colored square on the white card is actually the imprint of a white ceramic tile which had been stamped over with DewDrop VersaMagic chalk ink in three different colors blended together

* that provided the base for the 'butterfly suite' stamp from Penny Black - stamped and embossed in black

* sentiment on top comes from Penny Black - Edge to Edge stamp set

* the white square was then distressed and affixed with mounting tape onto the yellow patterned card before going onto the kraftcard

* finally finished with some yellow sparklers
