Many Blessings

blessings

The "Leafy Vines" stamp from Hero Arts is truly versatile - great for backgrounds, and also as the main attraction on a card - here, with a bit of masking, it sits wonderfully as a multi-coloured backdrop (stamped using Kaleidacolor - Autumn Leaves rainbow dye) to the beautiful sentiment "Many Blessings" stamp also from Hero Arts

Card design was inspired by the card in this week's CASE Study Challenge #184

Thinking of You

I'm a great fan of Magnolia stamps - totally enjoying the lovely images of Tilda and Edwin, which are great for coloring with Copics, water-color and just pure pencils (whatever your 'poison' is!).

I haven't quite mastered though the many layered and highly embellished cards that many Magnolia fans make .... too much going on in the card for me!

Preferring the clean and simple look with the emphasis on the stamped image itself, I couldn't resist the latest Magnolia-licious Tuesday Challenge - CAS (Clean and Simple), and this is the card that I made....

- with a bit of masking work on the image to allow the distress inking of the yellow grungy background strip
- 'Tilda in Summer Rain' was colored using Caran D'ache Neo Color II water-soluble wax pastels

great cycling friend

Card was made for the 1-layer card challenge from Hero Arts.

* the main image of the girl and boy on the bicycle (stamp is from IO-Impression Obsession - Fun Friends) was stamped first - I used teal metallic ink which provided a nice sheen to the stamped image (unfortunately, the sheen is not very noticeable in the picture)
* then I die-cut a scalloped circle to use as a mask
* with mask over the stamped image, I then stamped the background with Hero Arts - Newspaper Background wood-mounted stamp colored with Kaleidacolor Rainbow Dye Inkpad (Caribbean Sea color range)
* the "great friend" sentiment comes from Hero Arts - Made with Love stamp set - stamped in lime green and clear embossed
* with the scalloped circle mask in place, I lightly colored the newsprint background using co-ordinating chalk colors of light yellow, blue and green
